Harold Wilcox, Founder & CEO, traveler, outdoorsman, proud native South Carolinian

Growing up in rural South Carolina, I had the privilege of learning to hunt, fish, and BBQ with some of the best in the country. NOWHERE have I been able to find a sauce that is as good as what we created down the dirt road behind my parents’ home in Clarendon County, South Carolina. 

After more that thirty years, my friends finally persuaded me to start bottling this gourmet BBQ sauce. 

My older daughter named the sauce Harold’s Hog Wash, and since the business began, word spread. Now, we receive orders from people from coast to coast. It blows my mind that the sauce I started making in the South Carolina low country is enjoyed coast to coast and around the world. We have the receipts and testimonials to prove it. 

In 2012, Southern Living magazine named Harold’s Hog Wash one of the best BBQ sauces in the South, and the National BBQ Association recognizes Harold’s Hog Wash as one of the best bbq sauces in the nation. 

Harold’s Hog Wash remains independently owned, and my kids and I run the business out of Tennessee and South Carolina, and we ship orders nationwide.
